Why overnight4free.com?
It's no secret. I've often accepted the hospitality of WalMart at the end of a long day of driving. Maybe you have too. Why? It's convenient, safe, and best of all, it's free. To be truthful, it is hard to justify paying twenty, thirty or even forty dollars for a place to park for just a few hours of sleep.
To promote my RV repair business, I began offering free storage with winterization services. Then it struck me that the same parking area used for winter storage would be ideal for overnight parking in the summer. Offering free overnight parking could be another way to promote the business and might even provide a little extra revenue if I were to charge for electricty, septic dumping and other "camping" services.
But how could I let the traveling public know? I searched the web for sites that might offer a place for a posting. Nothing seemed to be what I was looking for. The more I thought about it, the more I thought how great it would be to have a website specifically for the en-route RVer to use to find a safe, convenient, and ultimately affordable (i.e. free) place to park in a more traditional campground setting.
Hence, overnight4free.com was born. I'm currently in the process of contacting RV parks across the country to see if they would be interested in participating. Hopefully enough will recognize the potential and join the network. If not, well, at least it was worth a try.
If you come across this website, please let me know. Your responses will help my effort to encourage campground participation. Please send your comments to overnight4free@hotmail.com
